Mind – Your Way to Freedom

Mind - Your Way To Freedom | with A.G. Mohan & Indra Mohan

A unique 10-day in-person program in India with world renowned master teachers, authors, and founders of Svastha Yoga, A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan.

The ancient wisdom of yoga teaches us that the mind (citta) is the primary architect of our reality. It serves as the root cause of our suffering and bondage. Yet it also holds the key to our peace and liberation. This program explores how our mind functions as a dual connection between our inner self and the external world. When focused outward, the mind creates ego and suffering; when turned inward, it brings lasting peace.

The Mind and the Path to Stillness

The mind serves as the essential link between the inner self and the outside world. It receives sensory inputs from the outside world. It determines the nature of that information and processes it. It internalizes the associated experiences as “belonging to me.”

Because these processes occur with extreme rapidity, we often find ourselves caught in “bondage”—a cycle where what we perceive as happiness eventually turns into sorrow. By understanding the root, nature, and connections of the mind, we can begin to transform our outcomes.

Drawing from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, as well as texts like the Upanishads, Yoga Yajnavalkya, and the Bhagavad Gita, this program focuses on the eternal truth that the mind is the cause of both bondage and liberation.

The primary goal of our yoga practice is to still the flux of the mind. By controlling these fluctuations and turning the mind inward, awareness becomes clear—acting like a mirror that reflects pure consciousness. This inward shift is the only way to attain lasting, unchanging peace.

About the Mohans

This program presents a rare opportunity to study and be guided by A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan in person. In a fast-paced world, the Mohans teach us to pause and reflect, come back to the self, cultivate peace, and remain focused on what is truly important.

A. G. Mohan is one of the foremost yoga masters in this era. He began his yoga journey in 1971, spending nearly two decades as a personal student of the legendary yogi Sri Krishnamacharya. Then he immersed himself in further wide-ranging studies of ayurveda, samkhya, tantra, ancient India dramatics, jyotisha, and more over decades. He is the author of several books on yoga, including Yoga for Body, Breath, and MindYoga TherapyKrishnamacharya: His Life and Teachings and Krishnamacharya In His Own Words.

Indra Mohan began her yoga studies along with her husband, A.G. Mohan, in 1971. She is one of few people to receive a post-graduate diploma in yoga from Sri Krishnamacharya. She is appreciated by students not only for her extensive knowledge and clear teachings, but also for her wisdom and calm presence. She has guided many thousands of students over five decades to increase their wellbeing, manage their health problems, and find personal and spiritual transformation.
