Dr. Ganesh Mohan, son of A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan, was trained from childhood in yoga and other related traditional studies. He is a doctor, having trained in both modern medicine and Ayurveda. He is the co-author of Yoga Therapy, Krishnamacharya, and Yoga Reminder. He directs the Svastha Yoga Therapy and Teacher Training programs as well as other trainings internationally.


Nitya Mohan, daughter of A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan, was trained in yoga from a young age. She holds a degree in music and is an exponent of Vedic chanting. She has conducted seminars and given concerts internationally. A skilled and experienced teacher, she has been running the Svastha training programs in Singapore for over a decade.


Dr. Günter Niessen is a specialist in orthopedic and trauma surgery with a practice in Berlin. His previous training includes physical therapy, chiropractic, sports medicine, manual medicine, neural therapy, and acupuncture. He is a yoga teacher registered with the BDY/EYU. Dr. Shailla Vaidya is a former Emergency and Family Physician, now practicing Mind-Body Medicine for Stress Resilience in Toronto. She is also trained in public health and psychotherapy (including mindful and compassion-based therapy). Integrating yoga into her practice, she offers both individual sessions and group workshops to help those suffering from burnout and chronic stress-related diseases. (www.theYogaMD.ca)


Kate Vogt, co-editor of Mala of the Heart: 108 Sacred Poems and Mala of Love: 108 Luminous Poems, began her studies in Yoga in the 1970s. Since 2005, she has developed and presented workshops, articles, trainings, lectures, discussion groups, and other ways to give mainstream access to the ancient wisdom of Yoga.


Iris Klein has been teaching yoga, yoga philosophy, and yoga therapy for more than a decade to groups and private students of all ages and challenges. She has studied with the Mohans for more than a decade. She leads the Svastha programs at Ella Yoga in Tel Aviv. She was a lawyer and a business consultant in her earlier professional life.


Sharon Byrnes ERYT-500, has Master’s Degrees in Health & Physical Education and in Specific Learning Disabilities. With over 25 years of experience teaching children, adults and special needs populations, she offers a variety of yoga workshops and classes, as well as private sessions focusing on adaptability. Caroline McCarter owns a private yoga therapy practice in Austin, Texas, where she creates customized yoga practices for physical, mental, and spiritual issues.  She is also contracted out by the Texas state mental illness facility, the University of Austin, and eating disorder treatment centers for her specialized yoga teachings. Chris Marrazzo BSN, RN, MAOM, RYT-500 is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher, Svastha Yoga Therapist, Ayurvedic Consultant, Herbalist, and Registered Nurse. He is a graduate of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and also has a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine. His practice includes yoga therapy, diet and lifestyle changes, and herbs as needed.


Jonathan Pofsky, MFT, CMT is a licensed psychotherapist, body worker, and yoga teacher. He owns and operates the Marin Stress & Anxiety Center in Corte Madera, CA, where he integrates somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness, and yoga therapy. Jonathan offers consultation and training to local schools and organizations as well as yoga therapy workshops and retreats throughout the Bay Area.

Vina Shah, a personal student of Indra and A. G. Mohan from 1998, has been teaching Svastha programs in Sydney since then. Her focus is now on women’s health, the yogasutras, and providing guidance and support to yoga teachers and students. A former lawyer, Vina is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Sanskrit dealing with various yoga and meditation texts at the University of Sydney. (www.svastha.com.au)


Giles Hooper first met Indra and A.G. Mohan in early 1998, and subsequently studied with them in Chennai. He has been their student ever since. He completed yoga teacher training with the Mohans in 2001 in Sydney, Australia, where he continues to teach Svastha yoga.
